Crackin' Job.

Call for a tree ‘crack’ opening up and seeing daylight through. Said crack was a included bark stem union and the client was right it was opening and closing in the wind. The inclusion went from the base of the tree up to the union. Where sometimes a tree could be saved by removing weight out of the crown, the client chose to have the tree felled, in part due to its proximity to the powerline, BT, fence and road. When the tree was felled the inclusion union fell apart (picture 8) 3m in length and with no stem welding at all. #arb #emergency#trees #northwales #arborists #treework #treeworker #barkinclusion#stemwelding #defender #redwoodchippers #jensenchipper@jensen_woodchippers_uk #teufelberger #husqvarna #husqvarnauk@ Talsarnau, Gwynedd, United Kingdom

Storm Damage this morning!

Quick storm damage removal this morn to re-open a road

Ash die back management - National Trust

40 ton of Ash removed over a well walked path for the National Trust. A pre- emptive strike by them before the trees become too dead to remove via climbing and the added cost of a MEWP. Also this means that the wood has been able to be used before it becomes un useable. Some has gone for biomass and alot has gone to a private buyer for furniture

Ash dismantle - Betws Y Coed

Ash, diagnosed with ‘topping’ practices in the past by poor advice from previous tree surgeons, contributing to large epicormic limbs with poor branch unions, this tree was also diagnosed with Ash dieback, and to aid a new extension to the rear property, sadly its life was short-lived. Most of the second leader had to be expertly rigged to avoid damage to the two properties and the shed below ! We’ll be back shortly to grind the stump out.

Llanerchaeon - National Trust - Aberaeron

Part of ongoing works for Ash dieback for the National Trust, A mature ash, in severe decline, with a huge cavity half way up with 70% loss of internal wood due to decay earmarked to be removed, as it couldn’t be safely rigged we winched it over with a 18t Tractor mounted winch. The timber has not gone to waste; by days end was sold awaiting pickup by a local carpenter to mill and make into furniture

Beautiful Oak

Beautiful mature oak, 5ft in diameter, large tree,. a few snapped limbs taken out and a lower growth removed off of the track so that tractors can get past again, no other work needed doing, There’s no point doing anything to a tree that doesn’t need doing; so why do it?

Dead Oak

Dismantling the crown of this dead oak to prevent the dead, brittle branches falling off onto the roof and sliding into the greenhouse below. The amount of metal in the tree, the lack of vigour and vitality in the general tree may mean the ultimate demise of this Oak.

Two decaying ivy-covered Ash this weekend, Dismantled. The larger of the two, will be milled rather than made into firewood and something bespoke, and everlasting made out of the milled timber.
